Chat with multi Grammy nominated saxophonist Bill Evans tomorrow, Friday, August 22 at 9 a.m.
Throughout his 20-year career as a solo artist, Bill Evans has explored a variety of musical settings, going well beyond the confines of traditional jazz, including hip-hop, fusion, reggae, Brazilian and slamming funk. In the early 1980s he worked extensively with the legendary Miles Davis, becoming his right-hand man in concert and in a series of recordings. Davis said of Evans, "Bill is one of the greatest musicians I've come upon."
Evans steps into more adventurous territory with his album Soulgrass, blending jazz, funk and bluegrass into a seamless and wholly-unique hybrid of American styles. He performs with special guest mandolinist Sam Bush at the Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville on Saturday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
Join the live chat at 9 a.m. Friday to talk with Bill about his music, his life on the road, and much more!
