Britt Festivals recently has added One Horse Shy as the opener for Clint Black on Thursday, July 24th at 7:30 p.m.

One Horse Shy is a gathering of songwriters and seasoned musicians delivering a fresh brew of Americana featuring the powerful songwriting and vocal performances of Manda Bryn and Cris Kelly. Combined with the singing and songwriting talents of bassist and mandolin player Mysha Caruso and the percussion work of Bryan Helfrich, the Americana style quintet, formed in 2007, has taken the Northwest music scene by storm while developing a following throughout California and to Seattle and beyond. The recent addition of dobro, lap steel player and vocalist Bob Evoniuk has strengthened their repertoire and set them rolling in a new direction, as is evident by the performances on their newly released self-titled CD.

With influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Gillian Welch and Bill Monroe to James McMurtry, One Horse Shy’s sound is the culmination of 100 years of Americana distilled into a powerful blend of evocative ballads and foot-stomping roots rock. Writing expressive original songs from the upbeat rhythm of “Honey in My Tea” to the driving beat of “395” One Horse Shy will capture and enthrall their listeners with unforgettable harmonies, artful song crafting, and vivid lyrical imagery.

“One Horse Shy brings American roots music a step farther down its ever-evolving trail. Featuring “glistening female vocals” the band shines like a train light in the Cascade rain.”
