Two years ago one of my best guy friends and I went to the Cake concert. We are both huge fans and decided that we would sleep overnight to get a good spot in line. We grabbed our tents and sleeping bags along with tons of food and put up our tent along the side of Britt. Not thinking completely we decided to not put the stakes in the ground to hold the tent in place because we were tired from the day before plus we felt like it wasnt necessary. When we woke up in the morning our tent had slid down the hill and rotated 90 degrees. The door to the tent was on the ground below us and the roof was on the side where the door should have been. Also we slid down the hill about 20 yards. We ended up becoming good friends with people in line behind us who helped us get out of our situation. WE spent the entire day hanging out with the couple behind us and relaxing while we waited to rush to our seats in the afternoon. When the gates opened both my guy friend and I got confused and ran different ways to get our seats and we bumped into each other and fell over. We still got amazing seats for the concert and it was the most fun 2 days that i have ever had. Even now that i think back I cannot remember one second during those 2 days that i was not laughing or smiling. The concert was amazing and we both enjoyed every second of it. We were dancing and singing just having fun. I had been to Britt before with my parents but this experience was soo much more fun. I had so much fun because i was with one of my best friends watching one of my favorite bands. I will never ever forget the Cake concert that we went to at Britt.

When I heard Billy Idol was coming to town I did everything I could to get tickets. I have loved him since I was a kid and I was devistated to go on the websight to get tickets and the concert was sold out. My daughter and I decided to go see if we can just get a glimps of Billy so we walked over with high hopes. Much to our surprise there were several other people who didn’t get tickets and told us about the road behind the Britt. The people were so energetic and exiting to hang out with. We were dancing and passing around binauculars and had such a great time. I even had a police officer jokingly offer to let me sit on his shoulders, which reminded me of what a great place we live in. I love being here in J-ville and having the opportunity to experience all you have to offer!

When my sister and I went to see Billy Idol this year it was surely an experience I hadn’t had before. First of all, I was not used to the energy of ‘lawn seating’. What fun! Billy Idol was fantastic, one of the best shows I have seen there. What made it even more interesting was the fact that at our ripe young age of 35 and 44, we decided to be ‘groupies’ and go back and see if we could get his autograph. When he was done playing, he headed toward the bus with the band and a group of girls headed toward him screaming, flung open their shirts and yelled, ‘sign me Billy!!’. I looked at my sister and said, ‘don’t EVEN think about it!’ When he walked past us, the band security said he needed to get to the bus, and I asked if he would sign my program and told him what an amazing show it was. He said sure and signed away. My sister then said, ‘Mr. Idol, would you sign mine as well?’ With politeness, he signed it and tried to hand her HIS pen of which she politely handed it back to him and said, ’ not my pen Billy, it’s yours’. I said to her..’you IDIOT!! he just tried to give you HIS pen!! What is the matter with you????’ Thus, we came out of the concert with signed programs, not bodily parts, for which I am very excited about, thank you Britt for a great season this year.

I’m not sure I can compete with those that have posted here so far, because as of yet I haven’t been to a Britt concert. :( My oldest 2 daughters have been there, however, to see Jewel. It was their first concert experience and they STILL rave about the wonderful time they had! Their more recent concert experiences paled in comparison & I’ve been dying to experience it myself! My aunt is fairly new to the Britt as well, yet she and her husband have been several times this year already (yep, I’m jealous!)... Fingers crossed that I will soon get the opportunity! My husband, also, has never been. Winning tickets would be even more wonderful for him: a good experience & a chance to create some great memories before he’s deployed to Iraq…. (( silently jumping up and down, screaming “Pick me! Pick me!”—lol ))

Lois,
If they pick me, I will give you the tickets so you and your husband have a memory to enjoy before he leaves! :)
