Bonnie Raitt
Monday, September 1, 2008 • 7:30 p.m.
The redheaded blueswoman's soulful, unaffected way of singing, and her uncanny insights into blues guitar have made her more than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer and accomplished songwriter. Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music. "Thing Called Love," "Nick Of Time," "Love Letter," "Have A Heart," "Something To Talk About," "I Can't Make You Love Me," "Not the Only One" and "Love Sneakin' Up On You" are just a few of the singles attributed to the nine-time Grammy-winner and social activist.

Special guest The Curtis Salgado Band

Oregon favorite Curtis Salgado opens the concert. Sagado started his own band in the burgeoning Northwest blues scene in the early ‘70s, then was a key part of the formative years of the Robert Cray Band. Later he left to front the respected Roomful of Blues. He even had a stint as lead vocalist with Carlos Santana in 1995. Along the way, he inspired John Belushi to create the Blues Brothers when Belushi was in Eugene to film Animal House. After a personal roller coaster during the last two years that included a life-saving liver transplant, Salgado is healthy and recording again. He’s currently working on a new album.
